The Cinnamon Trust is a UK charity that supports elderly (65+) or terminally ill pet owners by providing free, practical, day-to-day care for their pets, such as dog walking, grooming, and feeding. It helps prevent the separation of pets from their owners through foster care for hospital stays and, in cases of death or relocation, offers long-term sanctuary care. 

Citizens Advice - the people’s champion. We give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

We are here to help everyone who needs it with practical advice you can really trust. Our national charity and network of local charities offer confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free.

Duchy Care provides independent companionship and home support in Harrogate, helping older people continue to live well at home while giving families peace of mind. We are not here to take over.  Our role is to support independence, confidence and wellbeing, while offering thoughtful oversight and continuity.

Most families begin with just a few hours a week.

We started Full Circle Funerals in 2016 because we believe that planning a funeral is not just something that you “get through” and that, with the right support it can be a powerful and positive experience. 

We wanted to enable friends and family to take control by offering genuine choices, in a safe and welcoming environment.

We are compassionate people first and funeral directors second.  Full Circle is a female-led organisation and our backgrounds in health, social and pastoral care mean we have the experience to help people to work out what might be helpful for them while making funeral arrangements, and on the day itself.

Established in 2024, The Harrogate Neighbours Community Hub is a place where you can pop in and say hello, have a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and ask for any help you may need.

Spread across 2 floors, there are 6 tables, a small café area, as well as remote working locations, a sharing library and a local noticeboard. 

Support Services: Offering a confidential Infoline, legal help, and online resources.

Local Support: Over 140 independent local Minds provide services including talking therapies, counseling, and housing support.

Campaigning: Pushing for better mental health policies and services from the government.

Awareness: Fighting stigma through campaigns and education.

Workplace Training: Helping businesses create healthier environments.

Information: Providing resources to help people understand their rights and manage their mental health.

24/7 Listening Service: Available every day of the year via phone, email, and letter, allowing people to talk about their struggles.

Suicide Prevention: Working to prevent suicide by providing human connection, support, and resources to those in distress.

Community Outreach: Volunteers provide support in prisons, schools, universities, and workplaces.

Media Guidelines: Collaborating with the media to ensure responsible reporting on suicide and self-harm.

Research & Policy: Conducting research on suicide risk factors to inform government policies and reduce inequality. 

SOP was founded in 1982,  a registered charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation often experienced by older people living on their own.

At Supporting Older People we:

• Match older people with volunteer visitors
• Recruit Volunteer befrienders, drivers and fundraisers
• Organise social activities, outings and events
• Liaise with our family, statutory agencies and voluntary organisations
• Host events where volunteers and the people we support join together
