Supporting Older People
SOP was founded in 1982, a registered charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation often experienced by older people living on their own.
At Supporting Older People we:
- Match older people with volunteer visitors
- Recruit Volunteer befrienders, drivers and fundraisers
- Organise social activities, outings and events
- Liaise with our family, statutory agencies and voluntary organisations
- Host events where volunteers and the people we support join together
Harrogate Neighbours
Established in 2024, The Harrogate Neighbours Community Hub is a place where you can pop in and say hello, have a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and ask for any help you may need.
Spread across 2 floors, there are 6 tables, a small café area, as well as remote working locations, a sharing library and a local noticeboard.
